Niger Assembly deputy speaker Bako Alfa resigns


The Deputy Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Bako Alfa, has resigned.

Alfa, a member representing Bida 1 at the House made his resignation known through a letter he submitted to the House which was read during Thursday plenary.

The Speaker, Abdullahi Wuse, who read the letter on the floor of the House, however, did not give details on why the deputy speaker resigned.

Meanwhile, the house has nominated Jibrin Baba representing Lavun constituency as the new deputy speaker.
